#127 Music of Pandaria

I don’t think I’m alone when I say that when I play WoW I prefer to have something listen to as I play.

In previous expansions I have played the game without music or sound, choosing to listen to music or podcasts on my computer. Once you heard one grand sweeping medieval score, you  heard them all.

In Mists of Pandaria  I can say that I am not only enjoying the music, but I am not opting to listen to the background music over the works of Billy Joel, Fun, and PSY.

As a fire mage, I especially like “we didn’t start the fire”

The music department went all out for this expansion, using strings and chimes and other more eastern music instruments and styles that I am too much of a noob in music to properly identify.

All I know is two things about the music: The Pandarian inn music blew my mind the first time I heard it going into the Drunken Hozen and I am glad that I bought the soundtrack of this expansion.

There are times where I just went AFK just to listen to the music here.

I make sure Mrs. Amateur gets the Collector’s Edition of each expansion (starting at Wrath unfortunately). She gets the pet and mount, I get the artbook and soundtrack. Though it occurs to me, thanks to a couple of new CD’s in my collection I haven’t actually popped Mists in the truck yet. I should remedy that this week.
