#11 Diablo 3(60)

Earlier this week Blizzard had announced, via twitter, the news that their next Diablo game will be released on not only on the computer, but it will soon to be available to the console players too. Blizzard have yet to say which console devices that they are playing on releasing too, nor if the game will be released at the same time as the PC version, but I highly doubt that we will see Diablo 3 for the Wii.

The official Blizzard announcement, in 140 characters or less

With production underway for the console version of Diablo 3, I can only assume that Blizzard and the people working on this project, will find a way to incorporate the Battlenet service on to the Xbox and PS3 to allow cross platform multiplay, with people who play on computers and people who play on the Xbox play together.

This is a big step for Blizzard, since all of their other games have been exclusive for the PC player. If the console launch is not a huge disaster, we may actually see future Blizzard games also coming to the consoles devices, but I do not think that they could port a complex game like Starcraft, much less WoW to the consoles.

But as I read the news articles I had a question pop into my head that I am afraid to ask, with the Diablo game also being released to the consoles, will that delay the PC release date even further back? Blizzard is known for going above and beyond to make sure that their players are happy with the finished product and that the game release will strong, so it would it be that far out of the question that blizzard will stall the game ever more to have both version of the game to be ready at the same time?
